Creative Work

Off-the-Grain

Before Nadia attended FIDM, her creative outlet was redesigning old shoes. She would take plain pumps and transform them into themed, eclectic high heels. These ranged from Burlesque-inspired heels to eye-catching Alice in Wonderland-inspired pumps.

Her journey at FIDM provided an immersive, creative experience like no other. Nadia was able to establish her passion and find her identity in a new city.

While at home when all classwork was completed, Nadia wanted to stay even more creative so she taught herself how to arm knit. She has since made scarves, hats, and wall decor through knitting with her arms, fingers, and circular looms. Craftsmanship has always been an important aspect of her designs as she focuses on small details to capture her audience and ignite a new sense of style for all women.
